Campaign for Sustainable Harlington -opposing a stadium and commercial development at Junction 12, preserving the Greenbelt and the character of the village
The application (contd) - plan of the site
Please note that this plan is based on the developer's original proposals and may not be an accurate representation of the actual application details of which will be posted here when available.
Up to 3,000 lorries per day?
Impossible?
Read on........
Note the size of the warehouses (blue stripes) compared with the stadium (purple outline).
A company advertising on the web and describing their own facilities stated:
"Currently the facility has 120,000 square feet of warehousing, with an additional 100,000 square feet becoming operational in two stages later this year, increasing capacity to a conservative 12,000 pallets per night. The increase warehouse capacity will allow up to 300 double-decked artics being off-loaded and loaded per night."
They would still only have one tenth of the proposed capacity at J12 so are we to expect ten times their projected number of lorries, i.e. 3,000 lorry loads per night?
